Your Right to Know What You're Eating

Accurate food labels and your knowledge about food safety are your tools for protecting your family against toxins. There are companies that are working hard to keep you ignorant.

Read this excellent article by Dr. Mercola in which he describes Monsanto's efforts to deceive the public about the chemicals in milk.

If you live in the US, please look for milk that says, "rBGH-free." If you live outside the US, don't worry, your government has protected you from this dangerous chemical by outlawing its use.

Medicate Post-partum Depression?

I just read an article by Dr. Mercola speaking against Senate bill 1375. I agree with Dr. Mercola that this bill shouldn't be law. I think women should have information about post-partum depression which is the main focus of this bill.

But . . .

Should we have laws that hospitals must warn patients about smoking? Should doctors be required by law to give their patients information on heart disease or remind them to buckle their seat belts?

The only possible reason for this law is for the drug companies to make more money. Here are two videos that discuss one mother's plight.

The most important people on the planet, in terms of our future, are our children.
The second most important people on the planet are our mothers.
Men, have shown themselves to be, judging from history alone, mostly troublemakers.

I believe the fundamental causes of post-partum depression are:
  1. a lack of female community that can share women's wisdom about birthing children
  2. a lack of emotional nurturing of new mothers
  3. a lack of proper nutrition in pregnant women and post-partum mothers
  4. a lack of knowledge on the part of the medical establishment
It is not caused by a deficiency of antidepressants.

Ear Candles Don't Work

I believe in natural medicine; I always start with an alternative approach to any illness. I'm very suspicious of anything medical. I've seen MDs complain about ear candling but I thought they were just being negative about something that wasn't pharmaceutical.

So I've used ear candles. I believed the hype about removing wax and detoxifying.

When my brother questioned the physics behind the process, we did an experiment. We used a closed plastic tube to simulate an ear and burned a candle as if we were "candling" the plastic tube. The results were exactly the same as when a similar candle was burned in an ear.

The "ear wax" is simply the melted beeswax and soot which looks a great deal like ear wax. The "yeast dust" is just crumbled beeswax.

Here's the photo of the ear candle burned without contacting a human. We put a small piece of paper-towel in the plastic tube to catch any material that would have fallen into the ear. There was a small round chunk of beeswax in the towel and considerable dust in the plastic tube; so the process can actually add to the dirt in the ear without any capability to remove anything.
So don't waste your money on these worthless products. If you have wax buildup, see your doctor or your pharmacist.

New Study on Cellphone damage

I afraid my blogs are overly negative. I hate that. Fear is not good for your immune system. So don't let my gloom and doom blogs get you down. Just make better choices about the products you use and the way you use them.

The truth is there is a lot of damage being inflicted on us because of a combination of our own lack of awareness and corporate greed.

Cellphones are a good example. They're great. I use one. But I try to limit my exposure as much as possible. Here's yet another recent study that shows damage to human tissue; in this case scientists found protein changes in skin cells. This study confirms earlier studies.

Please limit your cellphone use and don't let your teenagers talk for hours on these things--they could be setting themselves up for serious long-term illness.

Here's the original article.
